Fall is Almost Here and Hoodratz In Space #3 begins Production

Cooler temps. Color-rich leaves. Football games and comic books!

Early this year, Hoodratz In Space Issue 2 came out and delighted fans with its vivid artwork and moving story line. With the beginning of Fall, comic book artist Erik Reeves has begun work on Hoodratz In Space Issue 3. This third installment will be action packed, getting into the heart of the story with the girls making their way in space to find the leader of the Aocks!

To get caught up, visit my website, www.jackiecannon.com, to purchase Issues 1 and 2 of Hoodratz In Space.

Also in the works, my horror short story, which I'll soon preview here on my blog.

Stay tuned.

Finding out how to write when "life" takes over

When "life" takes over, it's difficult to keep your mind focused on writing. And when you do sit down to write, it's hard to get the flow going because your mind is running 90 mph thinking of all the stuff you have to remember to do. So, how to get the flow going?

For me, it takes having something peaceful, calming to look at. The calendars in my writing room contain island, beach and mountain images. Heck, even my desktop scene often flows between river scenes, lakes, white-sand beaches and snow-capped mountains; anything to help slow the flow of head traffic in my mind so I can focus on the one scene that I want to complete for that writing session.

Typically, I stare at the painting, get that image firmly in mind, then close my eyes and count backward from twenty to one (starting at ten just isn't long enough for me!). And I focus on the numbers, picturing then in mind too as I count down. Then, I open my eyes, read the last paragraph of the copy that comes before where I need to start writing and force the fingers to start tapping. When my life is that harried at that point in time, hey, I'm happy if I've done six sentences! At least I wrote that day and put something down on paper. For me, that is a sense of accomplishment. What's yours?

2014 Is Off With A Bang

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Yes, I know, we're four weeks in, but, hey, when you're on a writing roll, you just have to go with it until it stops rolling. And, by george, that's what I've been doing. Here are some things to look forward to from myself and the creative genius of VearGraphics, Mr. Erik Reeves.

Hoodratz In Space Issue #2 Kickstarter was a success, so be on the lookout for Issue #2 to hit this year! Also, we have a special Hoodratz In Space serial just for GhettoMangaQuarterly that should hit later this year as well.

@ErikReevesArt is busy working on numerous projects, so you'll definitely be hearing about and seeing more of him and his fabulous works.

And, along with Erik Reeves, there are two up-and-coming projects we're working on that should blow comic book fans' minds. Wow, 2014 is hoppin', and we're just getting started.

Stay tuned!
